The Executive Chairman of Jibia Local Government, Hon. Sirajo Ado Jibia, received a special delegation from the Katsina State Government, led by the Katsina State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Sani Magaji Ingawa, to commence plans for the renovation and upgrading of the Jibia Local Government Market.
The project is aimed at transforming the market into a modern market, with the objective of improving business activities, providing a conducive environment for conducting businesses, and further boosting the economy of Jibia Local Government. Information was also presented on the project plan and the infrastructure to be provided within the market.
In his welcome address to the delegation, Hon. Sirajo Ado Jibia expressed his happiness with the initiative, and assured that Jibia Local Government will provide full cooperation and support to ensure the success of the project.
The Chairman also expressed special gratitude to His Excellency, the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, for including Jibia Market among the four markets that the Katsina State Government has planned to upgrade and transform into modern markets.
He stated that this project will be a significant development for the people of Jibia, especially in improving business activities and providing a better environment for traders.
In his speech, the Commissioner for Works of Katsina State, Engr. Sani Magaji Ingawa, explained that the market upgrade project will include the provision of important facilities such as: Modern shops, Small business stalls, Large warehouses for goods storage, Mosque, Hospital/Clinic, Police Station, Restaurant, ATM Point, Toilets, Car parks, And other infrastructure befitting a modern market.
Engr. Sani Magaji Ingawa commended the Chairman of Jibia Local Government for the developmental projects he has been providing in Jibia Local Government, and called on the people of Jibia and the traders to give their full cooperation to ensure the success of the project.
Professor Ahmad also gave further explanation on the importance of the project, stating that the upgrade of Jibia Market will further boost business activities, especially due to Jibia’s strategic location and its proximity to the border between Nigeria and the Republic of Niger.
In his own speech, the Secretary of Traders of Jibia Local Government, Alh. Haruna Sada Zare, expressed gratitude to His Excellency, the Governor of Katsina State, on behalf of the traders of Jibia.
He expressed the happiness of the traders with the initiative, saying that the improvement of the market will provide a better environment for doing business and help boost the economy of the community.
Others who delivered speeches included the Katsina State Commissioner for Commerce, Hon. Yusuf Rabiu Jirdede, and the Special Adviser to the Governor of Katsina State on Commerce, Hon. Mustapha Bala Batsari, along with other officials and participants at the meeting.
Finally, His Highness the Sarkin Arewan Katsina, District Head of Jibia, expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Jibia Local Government for this important market upgrade initiative.
He described the project as a major development that the people of Jibia will continue to benefit from, with prayers that Allah grants the successful completion of the project.
The upgrading of Jibia Market is among the important measures being taken to further boost business activities, improve the environment, and provide better business places for the people of Jibia Local Government.
