The Katsina State Government under the leadership of Dikko Umaru Radda has presented N19.2 million as financial assistance to families of soldiers killed in action and personnel wounded in action at the Natsinta Barracks, in recognition of their sacrifices in the ongoing fight against insecurity.

The financial support was presented on behalf of Governor Radda by his Special Adviser on Security and Community Watch Yusuf Ibrahim Safana during a ceremony held at the barracks in Katsina.

Speaking at the event, Safana said the intervention reflected the governor’s deep appreciation for the courage, dedication and patriotism of officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army who continue to defend Katsina State and the country against banditry and other security threats.

He noted that Governor Radda remains committed to supporting security personnel not only through logistics and operational assistance but also by providing welfare interventions to ease the burden on families of fallen heroes and soldiers recovering from injuries sustained in active service.

According to him, the sacrifices made by military personnel in the line of duty are invaluable and the state government considers it a responsibility to stand with them and their families during difficult times.

Safana reiterated that the administration would continue to strengthen collaboration with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to ensure lasting peace and security across Katsina State.

In his remarks, the Chief of Staff of Natsinta Barracks, Colonel N. A. Yakubu expressed profound gratitude to Governor Radda and the Katsina State Government for the N19.2 million support and the administration’s consistent assistance to the military.

Colonel Yakubu described the gesture as timely and compassionate, saying it would provide relief to bereaved families and wounded soldiers while boosting the morale of troops engaged in security operations.

One of the beneficiaries, Muhammad Suleiman from Sokoto State and currently serving in Katsina, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Governor Radda for the support. He said the assistance demonstrated that the state government values the sacrifices made by soldiers and remains committed to their welfare.

Suleiman added that the gesture would provide practical support to affected personnel and their families and encourage troops to remain steadfast in their duty to protect lives and property.

The Chief of Staff assured the state government of the Nigerian Army’s continued dedication to protecting residents and defending the territorial integrity of Nigeria.
