The attention of the Management of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University UMYU Katsina, has been drawn to a donation appeal circulating on social media platforms seeking financial assistance for an alleged former security personnel of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences UMYU, who is purportedly in need of surgery to remove an implant.
The University wishes to inform members of the UMYU community and the general public that the said appeal has been found to be fraudulent and should be disregarded.
Members of the public are therefore advised not to make any financial contributions to the account details contained in the circulating message and are urged to refrain from further sharing or promoting the appeal.
The University further advises members of the community to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of any fundraising appeal purportedly associated with UMYU before making donations or sharing such information.
The University regrets any inconvenience or concern the circulation of the fraudulent message may have caused and appreciates the cooperation of members of the UMYU community and the general public in preventing others from falling victim to such fraudulent activities.
Members of the public are kindly urged to take note and be guided accordingly.
